Our Role in Your Claim
How we can help
- Help you locate your policy documents and carrier contact info
- Clarify what your policy covers for the specific type of loss
- Review a claims denial with you and identify your options
- Connect you with a public adjuster if the claim is complex
- Follow up with the carrier on your behalf if communication stalls
- Assist with policy changes needed before a future renewal
Tips for a Smoother Claim
Protect your claim from the start
- Report claims promptly — late reporting can complicate coverage
- Never admit fault at the scene of an accident
- Keep all receipts for emergency repairs or temporary expenses
- Get multiple estimates for property repairs when possible
- Keep a written log of all communications with the adjuster
- Don't sign a final release until you're sure the claim is fully resolved
Claims are between you and your carrier
As your insurance agent, we serve as your advocate — but the claims process is managed directly between you and your insurance carrier. We can advise, facilitate, and escalate on your behalf, but decisions on coverage and settlement are made by the carrier's claims department. If a claim is being handled unfairly, the California Department of Insurance (CDI) is your regulatory resource.
